Do you want your own website but don’t want to pay an exuberant price? Do you feel you may have the abilities to create and maintain your website if someone just pointed you in the right direction? That is how I felt when I first started and I found out I was not alone. So I decided to document what I did to help others down the road to creating and maintaining your own website.
There are so many resources available that it makes it difficult to know where to start. Now I personally like the free or inexpensive resourses so you will find a lot of free resourses on my site. However, going the free route may take more time to get things going, but you will if you are committed and willing to spend the time to learn. Also, a lot of the free resources (ebooks, tutorials) will advertise various services but they still contain valuable information.
If you are going to conduct business online, you will find out that you will eventually have to spend some money to get things setup right. But the trick is to get the best value and maximize your return on investment.
You will need to decide what is the purpose for your website. Is it just a personal site or something for an organization that does not intend to sell a product, or is it a full blown Internet Business? A personal website can be setup for next to nothing but a business website will require marketing resourses that does cost money. |
